Brooklyn's Best Honors celebrates the people and places that make Brooklyn great while raising funds for a worthy cause! Hosted by City Councilman Robert E. Cornegy, Jr. and co-hosted by BRIC Producer and TV personality Fred Brown, the festive affair will include a live performance from R&B singer Darryl Copeland and much more. Honorees are - Art Curator Richard Beavers; Educator Celeste Douglas-Wheeler; and Entrepreneur Morgan Munsey. 

Richard Beavers is a seasoned entrepreneur, art curator and owner of Bedford-Stuyvesant’s House of Art Gallery. Concerned by the underrepresentation of urban contemporary artists, Richard decided to create a space where such artists are lauded. Since its inception, House of Art Gallery has represented numerous contemporary urban artists including Jamel Shabazz; Frank Morrison; and Marcus A. Jansen to name a few.

Celeste Douglas-Wheeler was born and raised in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn. She’s the current Principal of MS 57 in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn, where she successfully turned the failing school into an art-focused academy. Under her leadership, the school has received has substantial amount in grant funds allowing her to successfully mount five student musicals.

Morgan Munsey, who conducts tours throughout Bedford Stuyvesant, is a preservation architect by trade.  With Central Brooklyn as his focus, Morgan is an active participant in the preservation of New York’s historic neighborhoods.  Morgan is also one of Halstead Realty’s leading agents and one of the founders of its Bedford-Stuyvesant office. Brooklyn's Best Honors are held at some of the borough’s best restaurants, venues and eateries. These family friendly establishments allow honorees their family and friends to create their own authentic Brooklyn experience.
